Partners-Poland

Welcome to Szkoła Podstawowa im. Bohaterów Września 1939 r. in Świętosław! Our school is located in a small village called Świętosław which is about 30 kilometers away from Toruń in the centre of Poland. It is a small primary school with kindergarten classes. There are over 100 students and about 20 teachers in our school. Our pupils are 3 to 15 years old and they learn in 3 kindergartenclasses and 8 primary school classes. It is in a rural area and therefore it has not only an educational but also a big cultural importance. Apart from curriculum we organise after-school activities e.g. in English, German, maths, Polish, PE and science. Students can take part in many competitions, festivals, charity events, shows, concerts and meetings with interesting people. Our students love sports. We have a great outdoor gym, playground, football pitch and a basketball court. Now we are waiting for a new gym in which we will play many sports, especially in winter. We also organise school trips e.g. to the cinema, theatre, swimming pool or to visit different cities and places. We have great and friendly atmosphere, our classes are small and some of the students have their assistants. Our teachers are really committed to teaching and some of them can speak English quite well. Lately we have taken part in eTwinning projects Little Water Ambassadors and Magic Hats House. Our students were active and enthusiastic during the projects . Taking part in activities and meeting students from other countries are really motivating for further learning. We got National and European Quality Labels for these projects. Now we are ready to try something new and take part in an Erasmus+ project „Gamify English”. We will travel, meet new people and learn in a more attractive, interesting, creative and motivating way. All our students learn English and students from classes I-VIII have IT lessons so taking part in this project will be a great opportunity to gain knowledge and improve their skills in these very important areas. There are interactive whiteboards in our classrooms and we have a good internet connection. We also took part in a project which provided additional robotics classes. Students learnt there how to programme little robots. We are really keen on taking part in the project and meeting new friends from Denizli and Oviedo!
